From the beaches to the ever-growing community of creative people who move into this town, Sarasota is such a unique and special place and I am lucky to call her home. With the exception of college, I have met my best friends here, my husband here (another Sarasota native), and welcomed my daughter into the world here. Growing up, my parents were local business owners, so I had a first hand taste of what it is like to be completely immersed in the community. It has always been important to me to support our community and our local businesses not only because I am a "native" but also because I see the value in working together on keeping Sarasota a thriving and vibrant city. Best downtown SRQ restaurant? This is such a hard question because I have so many favorites and they're not all downtown! I guess I'd have to say Darwins on 4thDarwin and his wife are incredible restauranteurs and if you ever have the opportunity to stop in and try some of their ceviche and hand crafted cocktails (or house made beers) you will not be disappointed. Dream vacation destination? I absolutely love to travel but I think my top bucket list items include: seeing the pyramids and a South African safari. What is your favorite book? Memoirs of a Geisha. Favorite movie? Midnight in Paris. Best part about living in SRQ? Living so close to my family (with the exception of a few)! And constantly being surrounded by so many wonderful memories of growing up here. Favorite way to relax: I love doing anything having to do with my daughter, Charlotte and husband, Danny. Being with them relaxes me and makes me happy. Describe your fashion style in one sentence: It changes with every mood I'm in, just like my taste in movies and music but if I had to really narrow it down, I love getting dressed up! Sooo in more than one sentence I'd say glamorous, edgy and trendy. I basically just want to look like a fashion blogger when I grow up. ;) What is your favorite bridal style? Honestly, it's so hard for me to choose a style that I like best because I'm a huge proponent on choosing a style that flatters your figure and makes you feel the most confident. For me, I wore a "ball gown" on my wedding day. It truly made me feel magical. If I could renew my vows every year though, I would try to rock each style with confidence! (Does that cancel out my first thought?!?! -- Aghhhh I love bridal!) Favorite bridal trend of the moment? I love texture. I love that designers are emboldening today's bride with different textures, fabrics, beading and adornments. It makes for a truly spectacular moment watching a bride find her ultimate runway look that I feel was once exclusive to the stars. The more texture, the better! ;)
