#TBT Fondren's Wedding
Posted on Thursday, May 07 2015
When recalling her wedding, Fondren still remembers the hours that she and her now husband, Danny, put into making it the wedding of their dreams! They had an intimate California wedding, intricately planned by the bride herself and she wouldn't have had it any other way.
Who was your designer:
I wore a gorgeous gown made by designer, Lazaro.
My gown inspiration was based on "old hollywood" glamour but I didn't want to fall into the "vintage" feel. It was also important to me to find a gown where I could feel sexy, confident and my best and I feel as though I found all of those things in my wedding gown.
How did you accessorize?
I wore a diamond and pearl tiara that had been hand made by local jewelry designer, Nikki Sedacca
, for my sister on her wedding day. It was absolutely perfect. My sister is 10 years older than I am and I ALWAYS dreamed of wearing that tiara. I also wore vintage diamond earrings that had belonged to my mom - they were gorgeous and very special to me.
Where did you tie the knot:
We tied the knot at The Clift Hotel in San Francisco
. It was so fun to have our families and closest families fly out to California and be present while we exchanged our vows. San Francisco is our favorite city and while we have never lived their ourselves we enjoy the cities energy, creativity and beauty. It was really magical to share all of that with our friends and family. The Clift is a Morgans Group hotel designed by Philip Stark - it is practically a museum all in itself and after touring several venues we both know this was "the one". The ballroom that we got married in was on one of the top floors of the hotel and had panoramic views of the city- everything about it was breathtaking.
As already mentioned, I wanted to channel my inner Hollywood Glamour. My gown had a sweetheart neckline, jeweled and corseted bodice and a very full floral skirt. I added a stunning crystal sash around the waistline which at first sounded over the top but 100% completed the look.
Best part of the day:
All of it. I can't think of a specific moment besides becoming "husband and wife" that really stole the show. Everything was perfect. From walking down the aisle to a 3 piece orchestral performance of David Gray's "This Year's Love" to exiting hand in hand to the Beatles , "All You Need is Love". Our wedding was an absolute celebration of our love for one another and if I could go back and do it all over again - I WOULD - and I wouldn't change a thing!
Special thank you to my dear friend Naomi Chokr
for flying to California and capturing our wedding. You're an incredible photographer and friend. xx
